The context

Because of the economic conditions in Italy, many Moroccan and Tunisian migrants are subjected to the loss of jobs, to protracted conditions of vulnerability and to the impossibility of renewing the residence permit. All this influences and determines their decision of returning to their country of origin.

Our intervention

The project is organized in two phases, the first in Italy, the second one in the country of origin.

IN ITALY, the project establishes interventions of mediation, training, orientation, and activities to support reintegration. Following meetings between migrants and social workers, a personalized training and orientation plan is outlined. In particular, to those wishing to start up a micro-enterprise we offer assistance on how to set up a business, a business plan is drawn up with the related marketing strategies. Those who prefer a dependent employment are provided with a skills evaluation and assistance in drafting the curriculum.

THE RETURN is often characterized by the difficulty of reintegration and acceptance of social standards and habits, by the lack of health coverage and social services, by the lack of adequate resources and by low salaries. For solving these problems, the project therefore provides support on various levels: psychological, social and technical. The beneficiaries are allowed to pursue an educational and professional path that can contribute solving the economic and social problems that are the reason behind their migration.
